Hi all. I have a 2001 switchblade. Less than 30,000 miles. Have had about a year. In February the starter and clutch basket assembly broke and was replaced. Well, the other day, those two items broke again. When the harley guy came with trailer, we started talking and he said that HD doesn’t work on bikes older than 2004. I told him I’d never heard that before and the dealership didn’t have a problem charging me over 700$ to fix something they normally don’t do. I feel they are legally responsible to fix the bike since they did before. My question is, after being fixed, should I just sell the bike and get another. I really love ke the bike, it’s a head turner for sure! Just don’t want to be stuck with a bike no one will work on it.
thank you
Just saying they charged me for repairing it, and now they tell me they don’t work on older bikes. If I would have known that policy, I would have had bike towed to local Indy shop. That being said, I have good relationship with the dealer here and I feel they will fix it.
I’m looking for lost photos of this rare Dyna Wide Glide, I’ve only seen one in person. Dyna Wide Glide custom, I need better photos and the correct year, model letters, and all the custom features.

Thats a custom dyna lowrider with a wide glide rear fender. Wide glides don't have mid controls or highway pegs. Nor do they have the lowrider gas tank with the speedo/tac dash or a 19in front wheel. 99% sure thats not an official model. Its just a lowrider decked out in h-d catalog accessories.
These days a lot of HD dealerships won't work on a bike more than 10 years old. An indy would be your best bet for service. I'm curious what your problem is with your starter and clutch basket is. Are you engaging the starter while the bike is running?
