Default Wide Glide Highway Bars?

I have a 2004 Wide Glide which I LOVE but...my knees occasionally lock up and I need to stretch my legs. I haven't had any luck finding forward controls so now I'm considering putting on highway bars so I can extend my legs on highway pegs. Really wanted to keep the bike slim but the need to stretch my legs is going to win out.
Has anyone else put bars on their Wide Glide? How do you like it? Which ones did you get?
Any advice or feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks

I put a crash bar on my Wide Glide. Like you, I like a slim looking bike and the bar doesn't do much to help that, but I like the protection it affords in a low-speed crash or tip-over. I added fog lights to mine and placed them on top of the bar rather than inside in order to lengthen the visual appeal. I don't have highway pegs (I'm not that tall) but I installed mid-pegs to give my feet an alternative place during long rides.

Have you considered a mustache bar for highway pegs?

I thought of a mustache bar but that wouldn't look good. If I'm gonna do it, I'm gonna do it right.

i put Kury pegs on my HD highway bar and they are great. really does give you the ability to stretch out on the road. for us old guys, we also use it to get the cramps out, but thats another story.

My knees are totally shot, I can't ride more than 30 miles with them bent at all or I'm in pain. I found the
kuryakyn extentions for my wide glide did the trick. Now the legs are straight and I keep the thin look. The road king has the pegs on the bars, but that is a fat bike anyway...

I got these, they give me about another 3 or so inches, and you can adjust them almost any way you need to. Got them from Kuryakyn, seem to work ok. Thinkin on some days tho, I need extentions for the extentions. I slouch a little, so another couple inches forward and an inch or so out would be about perfect. Nice thing about these, it keeps the clean look of the bike.

You can have the seat cut back and more foam orGel padto give it a little more height.

I had the same problem with my 2000 Wide Glide, especially since I've been getting ready for Sturgis. I shopped around and found the best solution. I bought a pair of Lindby Customs, theMultibars, they make the bike look awesome and they have built in highway bars on the top of them, but if you still want to have traditional highway bars, then they also make some for those bars. I don't know if you can see them on my bike, but they are awesome. They are going to make a huge difference when I ride to Sturgis this year.
