I sold my 2014 Street Glide because it felt like I was driving a tank and got the 2016 Switchback. The best thing I ever did. Rides like my wide glide and handles like a dream...I have had 6 Harleys and this is by far the best...I nice mix between a cruiser and a touring bike. I changed The exhaust, Air and put a Vance and Hines fuel pack 3, a taller windshield, and a chopped touring pack on it..
I think it is a great platform when there is no need for a touring bike. I had some friends that thought so too, but they finally had to go get streetglides because they were ashamed not to have a real bagger..SMDH,,,I will say this is the same group that worries if the great fitting comfortable helmet they are looking at will give them mushroom head...lol
PS, I owned a bagger and a suoerglide and rode the dyna when we were just going to hang out on a nice night,
One day while I was out riding, my right saddlebag disappeared. I had never taken it off the bike. I have no idea what happened. My insurance covered all but my $500 deductible. But the bill for the bag, including a saddlebag guard that had to be powder coated black was $2,312.22! That was for the bag, cover, all hardware and the saddlebag guard.
Wow, that's crazy expensive. The bag I received was the shell, along with the chrome cover plate. Had to reuse the other hardware.
I've read about instances where, if you hit a bump hard enough, the locking mechanism will jump out of place, with nothing to hold the bag on aside from a friction fit to the 3 connecting points. I've read some people use zip ties round one of the connectors. Neither my wife on her bike, or I on my bike, have experienced that.
My wife has a 2016, shes put 20k on it, rode it to Corpus Christi, TX last summer and this summer we trekked to Sturgis, SD from WV. She loves that bike. Her first Harley and she wont consider anything else.
Stage 1 Kit, Van and Hinds Tuner and exhaust.
The instrument panel has gone out and the turn signals and high beam indicator lights are not working on the panel. I believe this a common problem with the SB and she has ridden in all kinds of weather.
I really like my '15 Switchback. Upgraded exhaust/AC, Mustang seat, and did the dowel rod fix for the bags where they can't come unlocked until I remove the rods. Will be putting apes on it but haven't decided which ones.

^^ ^^
Two wooden dowels about the size of a pencil cut in half, tiny cup hooks screwed into all 4 ends, one rod on the backside of each bag slid into the groove where the latch can't open, with a wire tie in the cup hooks to keep it from coming out. Just takes a couple seconds to remove or put in, can't see them when installed. I got the detailed material list from the Switchback forum site where one of the members came up with it. Don't want to take any credit due to him so I won't post the specifics, you can search for it and get details and pics.
When they are installed the latch won't turn to unlock without removing the dowel.

That sounds like a pretty good fix. I'm on that forum as well,, I'll have to check it out. Appreciate the info/explanation 👍

I said the "latch", but I was talking about the lock/**** that locks the bag to the bike and not the latch on the front of the bag. When I re-read it I see where that might confuse some.
