Hello Eveyone. I’m new to the forum and new to owning a motorcycle. I just picked up a 2014 switchback from a guy who lives nearby. 8,000 miles. He kept it outside (covered) as will I too. Needs a good detailing and the right pannier is kinda scuffed up. Also, left turn/high beam indicators not working. I’m the third “old man” (55) to own it, lol. Came out of our local dealer originally and on the second purchase too. Maintenance history with the dealer is good. Recent oil change, brake bleed and two new tires from the dealer. Exhaust and air upgrade although the pipe is rattling and needs some tightening up. Winter is setting in and I will be storing outside. I have stands and will store on top of plywood with plastic underneath the plywood. I’m going to spray and wipe all the metal with WD40. Cover well. Keep any snow we may get off of it. I paid $7,500. NADA has average retail at 10k and low at $7,800. I’ve enjoyed a few rides around the neighborhood and like the bike a lot. I would like to find and install original air cleaner. It currently has a KN that sticks out. I like the look of the stock cleaner and rather have the room back. It has a VH Twin Slash that needs some tightening up. I plan on giving it a good detailing in the spring. All in all I think it’s a good bike with good mileage and a good history. I think it was a fair to good deal for me. Thoughts anyone? Advise welcomed. Thanks again everyone. Ride safe.
I love my switchback, plenty of power, my mini road king, put a cigar muffler on it and decatted it. Runs perfect and sound great. It is pretty much stock and after years of spending all the money on accessories, I'm just riding this one. Sounds like a good deal to me, too bad you can't store it inside and tinker with it all winter.,
Congratulations on the new bike, sounds like you got a pretty good deal. Even if you didn’t who cares, you have a Harley! Wax is also good for protecting chrome from the elements.
Just traded in my 2013 Iron 883 on this 2016 Dyna Switchback w/ 4500 miles. This photo is at the dealer while signing papers... bike being delivered to me today. I have black exhaust shields and a SE nightstick slip on, on order along with SE tuner and SE round air intake. I’ll post more photos once mods are complete. I’m extremely excited for this bike and it checked every single box on my list, during my search. However, according to many, my masculinity is again in question. Apparently I just traded in a ‘girls bike’ for another ‘girls bike’. So be it f#ckers, I’m rather fond of Harley’s 103cu engine, power to weight ratio and handling.
Nice bike. It took me a while to find the right one, but after putting a few miles on it, it feels like the right choice. I rode an 07Heritage Softail, a Honda VTX 1800 and a Yamaha Roadliner 1900 (big bikes) before choosing the Dyna size and seating position.

My wife keeps calling mine a girl's bike but I still won't let her ride it.. She's wanted to lay claim to it since I brought it home. She has her Sportster.

Who cares what others say, it’s your bike. And in my humble opinion the Switch Back is one of the best looking bikes HD has ever made.
