I have an '07 Super Glide, bought it about 3 months ago. I am getting a small drip of oil coming down between the primary case and the transmission after a ride. The longer the ride the more oil seeps out it seems. When I mentioned it to a brother biker he said " oh yeah, that's a Dyna thing" First off, is it a peculiarity to Dynas only? second, is this a seal leakage problem or something else and how do you tell where the problem is?
Thanks,
Another "common" leak point is the shift shaft going into the transmission, that seal will wear with the shaft being rocked back and forth. Use a flashlight and mirror to look down between the cases.
Try to find out where the oil comes from.
If there is no oil inbetween the gearbox and the inside part of the primary cover IMO it could be a gasket problem.
FYI see my primary issues I had some time ago
