Buying a 06 Street Bob
Hey everyone im trading my 2011 sportster for a 06 street bob next weekend. I've read all the post about the problems on the 06. My question is the bike has 58k km on it and the guy im buying it from only owned it for a few months. What are the chances the stator and IPB are fixed?. Could the stock parts lasted this long? He claims he has no clue and that there is nothing wrong with the bike. Thanks

Unless you can get it $1000 cheaper than a comparable bike with a known service history i would stay away from that one, otherwise the joy of getting a new to you Harley could turn into the unexpected purchase of a new compensator, stator, etc. Lots of bikes out there happy hunting!

It's a buyer's market out there, especially this time of year. I'm sure you can find a nice '07 or up that doesn't have a lot of unanswered questions. Unless you're getting a killer deal, but you didn't mention the price. If you're dead set on this one, get a dealer to check the service history. Any service by an HD dealer will be in the system.

Don't forget about the fuel injector update. Mine had the old ones that had a misfire and had to be changes. Just did it and made a big difference.. You would think that with that many miles they would have the new ones though.
