Default Help with conflicting information

I know it’s probably been covered in the threads however I’m not navigating to what I’m iso to resolve conflicting information so apologies if it’s here and I’m just not finding it. I ride an 05 Dyna Lowrider. Forgot gas cap at pump (brake side Kuryakyn flush mount) will attach pic of visually similar part. Some info says brake side is always vented and RH thread so it’s the high cap when on kickstand. I’m 99% sure mine was right hand thread. The inner portion at least you need the special “key” 🙄 to remove. Other info says brake side is non vented due to there being a vent under the gauge on the clutch side. Looking at parts online all vented seem to be LH thread for clutch side and all non vented are RH thread for brake side. Any clarification or explanation would be greatly appreciated. Need to get the damn blue painters tape off my filler. Thanks.

I just checked the parts info i have and verified on my 05 FXDLI, the gas cap turns righty -tighty when it goes on and lefty -loosey when coming off, it's also vented. i have the same style Kury gas cap on my 02 superglide and it's also RH on and vented. the stock p/n is 61272-92E. FYI, '92 is when the part appeared and E is the fifth generation/upgrade of the part.

It seems seniorsuperglideE8 answered your question.

You may find suggestions in this thread to keep from forgetting your gas cap at the pump again.
