Default Seat question

I’ve got a 2000 dyna fxd superglide and found a solo seat on eBay and gu says it will fit my bike but wanted to see if anybody could reassure me of the fitment before I buy it
number on the seat is. P/n p51475-09a

It will not. That is an 09 part number and the seat framing changed in 06.

Just out of interest, has it changed much between the two? Is it a case that they simply dont fit at all, or is it something more simple like the rear mounting hole is in a slightly different place( as an example?)

They lengthened the seat pan and the retention bracket at the front is different. You could change out the front mounting bracket and mold the seat on to another pan or try to reform the current pan with some heat, but I don't think that would go well and the covering wouldn't fit properly.
