Default Talking myself into a 2011 SB

I'm trying to talk myself into a 2011 FXDB with low miles. My local HD dealer has one in the showroom, and I don't expect it will be there long. I think they are about 4-5k heavy on the price though, but DAMN it only has 5,926 miles on it.

I wouldn't have to do much work on it, other than new handlebars, and forward controls. I like the paint (Black Denim), I like the exhaust (Bassani?). This bike would be for in-town/commuting vs. my Road King. Bike came from California, which helps explain the t-bars a little I think, and it still has the canister on the front (easy to remove/bypass?).

What's my point for posting this? I dunno. Someone might really talk me into it and that will be that.

Fun bike, picked up my ‘13 last year early fall in NY for just over $8k with 1,924 miles on it. I did basic fluid changes, flushed the brakes with new fluid, and changed out the original tires and tubes. Did exhaust, intake and FP3 canned tune, custom dynamics and JW speaker adaptive headlight..rides great. Already had factory forwards on it. I’m comfortable with the bars, not changing those. Very different light feel compared to the limited. Go for it, but get that price way down

The same dealer also has a 2015 FXDB amber whiskey with is also fairly low mileage (11,773). It is mostly stock, which is a good thing, but would need more work on my part to get it setup. They are also about 4-5k heavy on that price too.

I ran both bikes for a few minutes in the showroom. No immediate issues. I think I'm going to go test ride both today and give the sales manager my offers.

Just do it if you can afford it. I did, it's great when I don't want to take out the Street Glide I take the Super Glide.

Love having a dyna as a second bike! Seems like the dealers in your area are over priced, but that could be because most of them are all owned by the same folks.

Found this at an independent near there:

These guys generally have pretty fair prices for an independent dealer. They have a 2014 FXDL listed with 2735 miles for $11,495. They regularly ship, too. (I don't get a commission or anything!)

(Oops, it's sold. I think it was in my cache...)

2015 FXDB $12,999
2017 FXDB $12,999
2014 FXDF $10,999

There are a lot better deals out there...

https://motorcycles.autotrader.com/m...dyna/200396371
done know what's wrong with the site but it's a 2011 Wide Glide for 9500... not a 2003.

I picked up a 2013 street Bob in December with 20k for $7400..

Thanks everyone. I agree that 2011 is WAY overpriced. I'm going to talk to them tomorrow and give them an offer. I'm ready to be laughed out the door, but whatever. I don't have to have the bike, so if it doesn't work out, oh well.

fwiw, you can save a bunch of money if you go on the hunt for a street bob on Facebook marketplace, OfferUp, and even Craigslist.

this past weekend, I was able to find a 2010 FXDB that the original owner was selling for a great deal! 15,9xx miles. Perfect condition. And I’m in South Florida!

If you have to finance the purchase, I understand the need to go to a dealer. But if you are paying cash, dig into private sales. Give you a ton of extra money to make it your own.

Also, I happen to have a Road King as well. I thought I wanted a Softail as my “in town” but, but I couldn’t pass up the deal on the FXDB. My point? You won’t regret getting the FXDB for in town. I love mine, and I’ve already ridden it to work 3 days this week.
