In this case where it's a vent, you could drill from both sides ... can you keep it close enough for half the bolt length?

Maybe you’re just accustomed to always having the correct tools? I can’t imagine a 40yr journeymen machinist drills too many holes with a DeWalt and a bench vise. Just sayin.

For the record, he did do a good job.

choke up on your drill bit to keep it from flexing until you get a deep enough hole to act as a guide 😉

I don't think there'll be too much of a mess.... If the pollen is as bad there as it is here right now it'll mud up just fine... Just pop off the mud cap and start a new one

This is what I got in my catch can after 300 miles. Oily water. Be prepared for a big cleanup!

OK.. Im gonna order the DK parts for V&H Stage 1 kit, that changes back plate, so I can use my K&N filter and chrome cover.. It has the hose-filter EBS system coming down behind the filter. The whole kit I priced at $164.. Are there any discount codes for forum members ?

Its the 606 backing plate kit without filter, as I have a new K&N Stage 1 filter on my V&H setup. It also has the hose and filter breather set and support bracket. Twincam / M8 parts I have a 2003 TC88.. I figured Y fool with the bolts, when I can do it right with these parts..

FWIW, obviously that 606 backplate will work, but personally I wouldn't buy one that didn't have a Radiused Inlet (like virtually any other High flow backplate)

... just a comment

EDIT: Now looking back at your earlier pic, isn't that high flow backplate? If so, why don't just do a different mod to it and save your money
