I keep one with me at all times and one hidden. I never leave the bike alone in the house with a key also, even with my alarm. Yeah, I'm paranoid, but I love my bike. Heck, I had a friggin nightmare last night the wife and I went camping on a military base, of all places, and when I woke up, my bike was stripped down to the motor and frame. Boy was I pissed. Glad it was a dream!
heh so do I... I dont worry too much about mine.. where I live I have neighbor who is home all of the time and watching my house 24/7... and everyone knows who is anywhere near me... that the police car in the driveway is probably indicative of the fact that the owner has resources available at his disposal to hunt down said thief anddo very bad things to him...
Don't worry much about the key at home,it just lays with the rest of the keys around the house.
I do worry about losing the key when I'm on a road trip,so the extra key is kept in my traveling luggage soI won't forget it when I'm packing for a trip.
If theives want your bike its gone....most will not break into your house to get a key for it, its much easier to just lift the bike into a pickup truck and be on their way. Depending on where your ignition switch is located, it will take less then 5 minutes to put in a new aftermarket ignition switch. So most if not all theives are not too concerned about having the key.
