wisemx makes a good point. Without a windshield, that wind is pushing against you all day. Maybe it isn't so much the seat as it is the wind pushing against you. Or, a combination of both.
I am so damned fat it would take a tornado to get my fat **** to move from the seat,
I have a buddy that gets a sore butt from riding his Electra Glide Standard. Be bought some fangdangled seat with a back rest (looks like a recliner on wheels, lol) and has something that looks like a peice of **** carpet on top of that and STILL his **** gets sore. Every hour on the hour we have to stop for him or his legs go numb and his butt really hurts. Must be a real pain in the,,,, did I say that? lol.
I must be lucky, stock seat, ride all day and butt never gets sore.
Sometimes it not the total miles that is the problem but total time in the saddle that will make your *** hurt. You can't always judge a ride length by the number of miles traveled.
Stock wasn't to bad on mine...but it was killing the wife. Added the Sundowner-she's a happy camper now...then the backrest--she loves it...then the windshield--huge difference on the highway (75+ mph in Idaho). The Sundowner pushed me forward (but very comfortable)...first long trip (450 miles--does that qualify Geezer? ) I felt cramped and pant leg bottoms caught on the middle controls when dropping my feet for a stop--not good! Went to a big bike rally...lack of pipe sound forced me into new pipes...cramping/pant catchingforced me into forward controls.
I am sure there will be other purchases...but dang, my bike is almost complete. I sure wish they built them out of the factory this way.
I am partial to Mustang seats this is the second bike I have had one on. Wife and I did 310 miles on it today a good seat makes distance riding much more enjoyable.
LMAO..............I didn't think there was anywhere in the country where you had to drive 75 miles to find a Carl's Jr.
Well, I know what the Ole Geezer is saying. When I lived a little closer to work, it was a 10 mile ride to work and somehow at least 100 miles to get home.
Now, its 20 miles in, and at least 150 home.
Why, when I run into town to top the fuel tank, does it take 2 tanksto home??
The stock seat wasn't too comfy for me either after a 100 miles, or so.
I purchased a Corbin Classic Solo with a backrest........... Can ride forever in comfort, now.
Although the seat is a major improvement, me thinks the backrest makes for the big difference in comfort at high speeds and long hauls.
