Default Low Rear Shocks

I have a 2004 Wide Glide that I am considering adding the H-D low rear shock kit to. My concern with these shocks is that I rarely ride without a passenger and I am worried about bottoming out and/or loosing ride quality for my passenger (I'm about 200lbs and my passenger is around 120lbs). I am also concerned that without the front being lowered, that it might look odd with the rear lower (Lowering the front isn't in the budget for this year). If anyone has any thoughts they could pass on, it would be appreciated.

You don't need to lower the front. I think it looks really cool to have the back lowered. I would look at the progressive shocks versus the HD shocks. The progressives are supposed to be "the ****" ..

I have been asking around about the Progressive 440's for my bike. Everyone has said that they are very stiff and they have not come close to bottoming out. Even if you do not lower the front, you may want to look into getting Progressive fork springs too.

You will loose ride quality if you lower your bike. If you have no problems touching with the stock height I wouldn't lower it. Lowereing should only be used to fit a bike to a small rider and you should never lower the front. Harley has spent millions doing R&D to find the best possible combination of front and rear ride height to get the best handling out of your bike. Most people lower their bikes to look cool. That's a bunch of crap. Of course all this is just my opinion so take it as you will.

Ride quality definately goes to crap when you lower it, I'll never do it again. On second thought never is a strong word......
