Hey yall, I got a 2000 dyna fxd with forward controls. I bought the saddlemen step up because I think it looks awesome and I read the raving reviews.
that said it feels like it sits me too far forward and actually hurts the inside of my thighs, like Im having to strain to hold on to the foot pegs. My wife HATES the pillion. And when I switched back to stock it felt instantly better
Anyone else experience this? What seat has been your go to?
Have been reading lots of threads on step ups. That being said, seats takes time to settle. A comfy seat out of the box isnt always as comfy after some time. Been riding with my step up for 4 seasons now, one of the best upgrades.

ive has it a couple months now but Ill give it some time maybe itll break in better.
plus its looking like Ill lose my hat trying to sell it local.
Sell it and get one that will satisfy you and your wife. Saddleman makes a good touring seat with a comfortable pillion for her. Mustang also. I bought the Mustang vintage wide touring with backrest and separate pillion.
I agree, I jumped on the bandwagon and its definitely the most uncomfortable seat Ive ever ridden. The sharp edge back support hit me weird and the padding in general was way too stiff.
Obviously its the popular seat of choice and every company has their own Saddlemen version (Lucky Daves, SDC, etc etc), but it was awful.
I went to a Le Pera Kickflip and Ive got the Saddlemen Explorer for long rides.
