Default Sturgis

Sturgis wasn't in the cards this year, but next year is a different story.Just wondering what everybody brings with them.I have a set of throw overs that I can fit a weeks worth ofshirts, pants, rain gear & basic toiletries.I also have a small tent & sleeping that can be straped to the forks. Is this enough, (planing on staying at the Chip).Next question. I am 1750 miles away. I want to do it in 2.5 days.716 miles day 1, 670 miles day 2, & 370 miles on day 3. Is this possible. I have an 06 Bob. My longest trip is about 400 miles with no problems.

I figure your not too far from the NYC area so yes, the miles you outlined can work. The club I ride with rode from Long Island to Sturgis last year (I was living in Iowa and meet them in Surgis). They made it from LI to South Bend, Indiana, the first day and Worthington, MN, about 60 shy of the SD border, the second day. This left them about 6 or 7 hours of riding to Sturgis the thrid day. The Buffalo Chip and other campgrounds have washing machines and dryers so don't to bring too much clothing. Besides, your gonna buy a few T shirts along the way. You listed just about all you need except you forgotmoney. You'll find the trip more expensive than you thought. A few gas stations in SD, off 90,gas had prices jacked up last year, food isn't cheap at Sturgis, a few t shirts, a visit to Rat's Hole Bike show, entrance to Devils Tower, The Badlands, Mt Rushmore, a bunch of beer and your money is gone...

If I was coming out from the west I would travel up thorugh the Grand Tetons, thorugh Yellowstone and out the north east park exit/entrance and travel Beertooth Pass. One of the best rides in the US. In fact, even if I was traveling from the east I'd make my stay at Sturgis shorter and do this...but that's just me...
