I have searched through pages on here about vibration issues relevant to Dynas and I have not been able to solve my issue. 2003 FXD with big bore kit 98" that has about 5K miles on it now. Recently I started noticing increased vibrations in the handlebars, seat and foot pegs. I went ahead and replaced both motor mounts, the rear with an OEM Harley, front with a Drag Specialties as there were no OEM front mounts in stock within 500 miles of me. No shimming was necessary as there was no gap in the front. My vibration problems are just as bad as before replacing the mounts. The issue seemed to come on suddenly too. Belt tension is correct. I was in the primary last year to replace the stator so I know the primary chain tension was done correctly. Also the compensator was torqued correctly to 165 ft.lb. with red locktite. This vibration is more than normal as my hands go numb on the bars after a few miles. The only time the vibes aren't as bad is at about 70mph. I can feel a much worse shaking in the handlebars during deceleration at around 30 mph too. At idle though nothing seems bad and I do not see any excessive engine shaking either? Any ideas? Thanks.
I realize you said the primary chain looked good , but it's possible you are getting vibrations from the primary chain. when you accelerate the chains is bouncing up and down on the top and when you decelerate the chain bounces on the bottom. What kind of primary chain adjustment device do you have?
Hi I got the same problem on a 2001 FXD. and wondering if you solved it? Mine just started doing it in the middle of a ride out, stopped for a break and when I set off again it was vibrating. Replaced the engine mounts about 3000 miles ago, it's not the compensator I've just taken that to pieces, the primary drive chain was adjusted correctly, the tyre pressures are correct, clutch bearing looks fine, the bike is almost un-ridable it is vibrating so much. Any pointers on where to look would be much appreciated.

I ride a 2015 street bob and had similar problem, vibration so bad hands went numb, replaced rear mount with HD, maybe there was a difference not sure. Replaced front with drag specialties, some improvement, shimed front mount, maybe a difference. Finally HD front mount came in installed with NO shims, problem solved
Not trying to be nosy, but I have the same problem, and was wondering what it cost to have the front motor mount replaced? I have a great "indy", but the only thing their parts guy told me was "it's not cheap". Thanks!
If it takes more than 15 minutes to replace then you need to go somewhere else. The problem comes when the rear mount is stretched rearward and that stresses the new front mount. Some guys shim the new mount to fit the old rear, but the right solution is to replace it as well, which more than doubles the cost...
The front mount is about $130 and the rear about $120.
I'm not sure of costs, I do remember the front mount was more expensive than the rear and more than the drag specialities mount that didn't solve the problem. I did the work myself and remember it took a bit of time as on my model 2015 FXDB there is some wiring and an electrical heat sink that I had to work around. I also have forward controls and aftermarket exhaust. So by the time I got the bike strapped down, a jack under the front of the motor, my shift linkage out of the way, the old one out, the new one in and everything back together I was an hour. it would be quicker now that Ive done it. That was my experience. may go quicker with your model, on a lift with a mechanic thats done lots of them
