Default shovelhead conversion

I have a 2005 dyna super glide, but the twin cam engine is toast and instead of rebuilding it, i was considering putting a shovelhead engine on the bike. I know that i would have to change the tranny and primary and probably other things as well, but i wanted to have your opinion. Is it worth it or i would be heading on a road of trouble?

While anything is possible with enough time and money, I think it will be WAY cheaper just to re-build your motor. Plus, you are going to have a one-off with custom parts that you won't be able to fix if you are away from home.

Does it make any sense? No. Would it be easy? No. Would it be cool? Yes.

If you want a shovel, go buy one. You can recoup some of the money by parting out the Dyna.
Otherwise, rebuild the bad motor into something even better.

If you had an EVO era dyna, it would probably be a fun project, provided you know your way around a garage. Converting a twin cam dyna sounds like "a road of trouble."
