Borrow a friends Suzuki/Honda, something small.................. IMHO it is much easier to pass a riders test on a smaller, nimbler bike.
Just a thought..........

Leave the stockers on. Think of it this way: If apes were conducive to good handling, they would be on GP Bikes.

Just my opinion,I would leave the stock bars on the bike for a thousand miles or so. At least then, you will have a little bit of experience before making a change that will effect how your bike feels.

I took mine with the apes. If the bars are legal then there is no problem.Just make sure all your signals, lights andmirrors are good to go and you'll be fine. Your permit is for learning how to ride your bike and they restrict how and where you can learn ,to help you get used to to the bike.It makes no sense to me to learn to ride your bike stock then get your license and completely change the way the bike handles by changing to apes. Then you have a bike that your not used to and your out riding at night ,on the freeway and carrying passengers. You'll be ahead of the curve if you just throw the apes on and learn how to handle the bike this way from the get go. Apes are a different animal and take some getting used to at low speed and while riding the twisties. I posted a link to that info you were looking for in your other thread.
