you will need the adapters to lift a Dyna, or make your own. When you look under the bike, there is a little fin thing under the transmission. you need to adapter to avoid damaging that fin. Other than that, there really isn't any wires or cables you need to beware of.
98965-99 MSRP US $21.95
This is about the best picture I have of the bike on the lift with these adapters. They clip to the bottom of the frame, and you just line up the lift to match up to the adapters

Where did you get your adaptors?

I'll have to see if the dealer's got any of those stocked tomorrow.
I tried to lift it tonight, but had the liftplaced more to the back. (the only place that looked like it might accept the jack as is)
Took the weight off the rear wheel for a second and realized I was nowhere near centered, so I let it down and posted this question. I hope I didn't damage anything. I'll give'r a good look in the am.
Thanks again for all the replies and pics.
I'd still be f'n with this thing if you fellas weren't around.
this is typically an item the dealers have in stock.... andthey are cheap enough it doesn't warrant looking for some online 20% discount.
Some people make their own, but again, at $22 bucks, its not worth the time to do it yourself. After the time and materials, you are probably over that amount if you do it yourself.
Freak - Mud answered your question. I think I got mine at local dealer, not online... if thats what you meant
I have a 1996 Wideglide. Does this "dyna" have the same issue? I'm planning on getting a jack so I can start doing some of my own servicing of my bikes. Thanks.
Do you have to tie the bike down?? on my FLHT I don't have to. it will just sit there while I clean, course I never did anything like pull the front end off, did change out the mufflers, but I mostly use it on rainy days for cleaning the wheels and re-touching the frame, yes I repaint the lower frame, gravel roads are hard on that part of the bike.

I only use a strap if I'm pulling the wheels or the front end. I have the red Sears lift , it's pretty sturdy.
