Default 2007 Dyna Superglide - Adding a Tachometer

Hello,

I'm sure this isn't the first time for this post, but I haven't been able to find any specific answers to my questions, so thank you in advance for any help.

I have a 2007 Dyna Superglide that I would like to add a Tachometer to. It originally came with a single speedometer gauge mounted above the handle bars. See picture below.

I would like to add a Tachometer as shown below. See picture # 2

I have purchased the "Mickey Mouse Ears" bracket, the handle bar bracket and a Tach, PN# 67042-04A, but I can't seem to find a harness to make it work. I did purchase a Road King harness, which connects into the Tach, but I am confused as to how to wire it into the main harness. The HD manual I have shows that the LGN/V wire (Databus) from the speedometer ties in to the LGN/V wire (DataLink) to the Tach and both connect to Pin# 7 in the main harness. The same goes for the orange wire, orange & white wire and black. Could it really be that easy? I have attached the .pdf wiring diagram below. (Untitled 2)

Does someone actually sell a harness all built that I can buy that's plug & play? Is there a factory HD harness available?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Dave

It appears that you have the correct Tach so yes, it really could be that easy ... As long as you connect the 5 wires correctly.

All you're effectively doing is using the same year FXDL wiring configuration (and Tach) and relocating the Tach to the Bars

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but, I'm looking to do the same dual gauge setup. The 2007 FXDL tach is 67481-04B but does anyone else know which other H-D tachometers will work with a 2007 FXD, if any?

@multihdrdr mentioned that 67042-04A will work, but, I don't know what model that tach comes from. I read somewhere that H-D may have changed the pin connector in 2006 so I assume that's the key factor in regards to compatibility.

Thanks...

Can you tell me where you found that out? Ronnie's OEM Parts Finder indicates that 2004-2008 FXDL tachometers are 67481-04B.

The B version means it has a minor upgrade compared to the OEM version. Both parts can be used on these models.
