My last HD was a Fat Bob 2019 which went earlier this year. Had a Wide Glide a Few years back.
About to buy a 2013 Street Bob with low miles. Have to say, although the Fatty was fast and smooth, I loved the test ride on the FXD - I like a bike that fights back a bit! That 96 engine pulls really well and the vibrations through my feet have Harley written on them! Hope to have her home by next weekend. Harley paint limited edition. Apes fit me nicely. 6.5k miles, new back tyre and serviced. Here she is:
Yeah for sure, good looking bike! Spent a night in Aberyswyth once, maybe rode down from there to about the halfway point from you, beautiful place you got there
Nice bike!
I own one of each. Mostly my wife rides the LowRider but whenever I work on it or take it out I grin. It's fast and agile. I rode it for years before I handed it down to her and I detuned it some to keep her out of trouble. Mainly removed the flat slide single circuit racing carb. Suggested selling it a few times to get her onto something more comfy but she won't let it go. Every time I ride it I know why! I'd get into trouble if I rode it all the time. Wait, I did. What am I sayin!?

Rained like a SOB!
Yeah rains here a lot but the grass is green and there's a Harley main dealer 5 miles from me.......that's cool!
I always thought the Softails are some of the best looking machines HD has ever made (Night Train, Heritage Classic and Springers).
Back around 2006 I rode a softail and didn't care for the balanced motor. Smooth as silk at idle and then it seemed to get a little buzzy around highway speed.
I love how the rubber mounted motors shake at idle but then are so smooth once up to speed (just my two cents).
Doing the same. Went from a 2006 Wide Glide to a 2020 M8 Softail. Didn't like the new bike so I sold it back to the dealer and went old school with a 2006 Softail Springer. I'm now selling the Springer and going back to my favorite, a Wide Glide (2010 edition this time). Best of luck!
