That makes me crazy too. I have an 05 Wide Glide and the dealer told me that if moisture gets in and doesn't disapear after sitting in the afternoon sun that they would replace the whole speedo. So they replace the speedo and 2 months later when the warranty is up the stain is back. Oh well enough complaining. Pure HD engineering and poor dealer service I say.[sm=rant.gif]
Yep, i had similar problems on a 07 Street Bob, mentioned it to the main dealer at 1000 ml. service, said they could change the speedo but that would do the same. Did,nt bother, you just gotta laugh,i guess metric owners would be pulling their hair out.
My speedo looks like it has oil or something on the inside of the glass. I have checked lots of bikes out there and they all seem to have some crud there. Guess its another thing to live with. As long as I can see the numbers I guess I'm okay. I do wish they would come up with a fix.
I have same problem. Everytime I wash it , it gets wet inside. It takes awhile to dry up. I would like to take it off and clean it , it is filthy on the underside.
o~~

Mine is NOT clear as well - smokey...
BTW - GREAT paint scheme on the Scoot - mean - old school...
i guess metric owners would be pulling their hair out.
Not really, I had a metric before my Boband the speedo was clear as a ...well something very clear!
It also had this ultra high-tech, very complicated mechanism that would keep track of hours and minutes in a day...I think it was called a [sm=ts.gif]clock? I don't know how those little yellow fellas did it! Maybe sometime when the technology gets less expensive and easier to fit into small spaces we'll get one.
I guess it's the price you gotta pay to be proud...[sm=americanasmiley.gif]
