I recently acquired a 2000 Low Rider (actually, I inherited it from my recently-deceased brother-in-law). The bike is in decent condition (well, it runs rough, in my opinion, but I'm going to start another thread on that topic. Oh, and the tach doesn't work...once again, a topic for another thread), but I hate the color and graphics he added to the fenders and tank. So, I'd like to change it back to an OEM color scheme. Is there any way to determine the original color of the bike from the VIN?
A quick Google image search brought up lots of 2000 Low Riders pictures, this seems to the general layout, colors of course vary. Do a search for a 2000 HD MC catalog or colors etc, etc. The internet should be able to provide:
I'm partial to this color scheme. I think it's called 2-Tone Sinister Blue Pearl/Diamond Ice.
I was curious, however to see if I could determine the original color. But, I don't think the VIN helps. When I pull the fenders off, maybe I'll be able to see some of the original paint.
