Default docking kit installation

I am trying to install a docking kit for a removable back rest on a 2007 Dyna. I don't know how to get the fender support off? Does rear tire have to come off to get to the signal light cover bolt?

don't know about the 07 but my 03 just get a wrench on the inside of the fender and take that out then you will have to cut your wires move your rear hardware to the back hole install your tail light and reconnect your wire, the wires on mine were way to short when trying to hook back so had to make some extension wires kind of a pain in the ***.

I did the docking kit on my 07 SB without removing the tire. There is no need for removal as long as you can get your hand between the tire and the inside of the fender.

If you remove all four bolts ( 2 per side) that go through the fender struts, the fender will fall right through onto the tire.

Thanks for answering, but how do you get the torque head bolt out? I can get my hand between the tire and fender but not a ratchet??

Thanks

no, you won't get a ratchet in there. You need a standard wrench on the inside of the fender to hold the nut, but I don't remember what size.

Use a wrench, not a socket!

It is a pain to get on and off. I found it a little easier if you putthe bike upon a jack to get the tire just a little bit lower. There is another post on the forum giving other install ideas.

I bought a set of those ratchet wrenches, I think both bolts are 3/8"
