Started the bike to go home from work and noticed the bike just shut itself off about 3-5 seconds in. Started fine. After a few more startups I noticed that the ignition switch was the problem because any slight adjustment from the On position would just turn off the power. After some time on finding the sweet spot - just holding down or pressing on the switch would keep the power on just fine. Seemed to not matter if it turned slightly left or right - just had to be pressed down into the tank. Yeah - I had to ride home with one hand on the switch but whatever. I'm guessing the switch is just lose but I don't know the internals of it. Maybe its just a lose screw? I don't know anything about these switches but any info would be appreciated. Many Thanks
Its a 2013 Dyna Switchback.
Replace the ignition switch. Not really any adjustment to be made or have it be loose 4 screws hold it in, and you cant open up the actual switch to clean the contacts.
I had very similar symptoms, although not as bad. You can buy a cheap replacement from places like JP cycles, or get a ream OEM part. The replacement from HD is an updated part number, and your dealer can order you one to match the keys you already have with the bikes vin. I ordered an OEM one with my dealer and got it key matched.
