I put forwards on my FXD and when I took the mids off there was a bad dent in the shield.
I'll pay for it and shipping of course I will post in the classifieds also.
Get a front heat shield for a Wide Glide. Your heat shield should have a large indentation cut out so your mids would fit over the exhaust. Now that the mids are gone, you have that spot where the raw exhaust pipe is exposed.
Since the Wide Glides came from the factory with forwards, their front heat shields do not have this cut-out. Other than that, they are the exact same.
The flamed heat shields are only $100.00 for the pair, so I would assume you could get the front shield only for $50.00 or less new from your dealer. The part number for the 06-07 shield should be 65966-06, but please verify if you order one.
Yes the part # is 65966-06 for the 06-07 Wide Glide that will fit all Dynas with forward controls. I just ordered one from Chicago HD. Cost about $52.00.
I have contacted the person who sent mea PM. He had a shield for an 06 Wideglide.
I have an 05 fxd and I called the HD dealer and they said it would fit. I should have statedmy model and year, my mistake.
