Default 2003 FXDL Add Security System Module

Hi all,

Apologies as I suspect this has been asked in the past - although I think a fair bit of time has passed since then and the parts situation may have changed...

I have a 2003 FXDL and ideally would like to retrofit the harley security system to it.
Rather bizzarly the bike has a siren with it but the turn signal module is just that and not an alarm module as well. I have struggled to find the correct parts online to order, if anyone could help me find the correct part that would great.
Also/or if the OEM option is no longer available I would appreciate some other options (as plug and play as possible)!!!

Thanks,
Harry.

Is your bike imported from USA or sold by H-D in GB? Check your VIN to find out if it's a USA model or an International model.
The p/n fort the HDI is 68924-00D MODULE, security system & turn signal canceller (HDI) and for the USA models 68922-00D MODULE, security system

See this info at H-D's S.I.P.

The Domestic & HDI TSM share the same part number #68920-01D and shows available in the states for $183.04..

The domestic TSSM is #68922-00D and the HDI TSSM is #68924-00D, both at $323.20

Hi thanks! It's a GB model. I'm assuming the only places where I could stumble on this module now is ebay?

No... they show the prices in the online OEM parts finder.... That usually means it's still available from the MoCo... If it's an obsolete part, they show "not available"...

All three of those part numbers show to be still available...

Here's the parts finder for future reference...

Thanks,
I was looking on the parts catalogue from my local dealer previously.

I suspect the dealer would have to order it... I'm sure there is not a big call for 2003 TSM/TSSM modules... I doubt many dealers would keep one in stock....

I have to admit, I don't understand the dynamics of ordering parts outside the US...

It's also possible it has been discontinued, and the online parts finder hasn't been updated yet...

Good luck with getting your part... Let us know what eventually happens...

Well after speaking to some harley dealers in the UK. The TSSM I need, although listed isn't in stock anywhere so that's almost the end of that.

I have found some on ebay (although bizzarly in the USA with the correct part number and Harley Davidson International).

If I purchase a used one will it actually be use able or will it brick my bike. I think there are some funky requirements with pressing the indicators etc?

Iwill also need to purchase some key fobs but we will cross that bridge later.

The problem with a used one, is you never know what shape it's in....

if you get a good one, it does require you to go through a procedure to marry the TSSM to the ECM (EFI) or ICM (carb)....

If that procedure is done by the end user, it takes time, and has to be done properly, or it won't take. The tedious procedure is by design, so it's not easy to steal a bike and put a new TSSM on it...

The dealer can marry the two with their special Digital Tech II computer tool. There are some aftermarket tools that can do the same. The same tools can easily add/subtract security FOBs to the TSSM when the time comes...
