Since you have good oil pressure, you probably have a flakey lifter. I've not used Lunati lifters but suspect they are the issue..
thats what I was thinking. My oil only has around 500 miles on it, but it does have condensation on the dipstick cap and the pushrods when I pulled the tubes. Do you think maybe thats it? Ive never had this problem before though in the spring.

Does it go away above idle? Your idle sounds a little low and the easy start cam releases are known to rattle at low idle..

Its hard to tell if it goes away when I rev it because its loud. I believe I can still hear it though. I havent played with the idle at all since last year and it wasnt like this when I put it away. I want to have it dyno tuned soon.
I just changed the oil because it was due anyway. I normally run Mobil 1 20w50 full synthetic. At this point not knowing if I have to tear into it to the point where Id have to drain the oil I went with cheaper valvoline 20w50. If I dont, then its only in there for 4,000 miles anyway. Since my oil had condensation I wanted to try it to rule it out. I called the shop that I bought the parts from and that did my machine work and he is sending me another set of lunati lifters. I would like to change to s&s but he says these are good. When I get them I will put them in and see what happens. Im thinking this is it. Fingers crossed. I will let you guys know. Thank you all.
Well I installed the lifters, and while I had it partially tore down I took off the rockers and put in rocker lockers I had. I do have adjustable pushrods but said what the hell to going a little farther. Took it for a ride and there was that rattle. DAMNIT😡🤬. When I got home, I put it on the lift and removed the cam chest cover to try to diagnose it. There it was. The outer cam chain tensioner was all the way compressed and the chain was loose. Thank god!!. I had to pry the shoe out of the tensioner housing. I wish I wouldve found it before. Im not sure why it didnt do it at all last year though. It didnt start until this years first ride. And again, no noise when it is cold. I have the feuling hydraulic tensioner conversion kit in it. I did it in September of 2020 and in September of 2021 I had intermittent no oil pressure on start up. Id shut it off and restart a few times until I got oil pressure. I sent it out to feuling (of course now out of warranty) and they rebuilt it and its been fine since. Now this. Ill try to post a video of what I found.
Glad you found it,I had the 570 easy starts in my 2000 but they were gear drives, always a little noisy and clanked when I shut it off but ran them for 100,000 miles with no problems.

Thank you! I love the cams. Hopefully soon I can get it dynoed and the engine will be done.

I've never heard of that happening to a hydraulic lifter before......
I have to admit, I have not used or seen a Fueling cam plate or hydraulic lifter in person.... so I am ignorant about them...
Do the Fueling hydraulic lifters have an internal spring like the HD hydraulic lifters, or are they strictly pressured from the oil pressure....?
