BUT I have an update / I am also just an idiot ahole, and didn't check my pipes were secure. EVEN though I ALWAYS say to CHECK your exhaust, this time, I didn't. I assumed they were strong but my second pipe, was MISSING NUTS, WTF, how did I did let that happen, I don't know, but she's running INCREDIBLY better since re-tuning her, AND freaking TIGHTENING the exhaust. This was all on me, I misstep'd the obvious. sorry all. but I AM DEF going to check in to the powervision, but holy crap, she is RUNNING WELL (once I fixed the exhaust leak / tuned EFI))!!!!

Dude, tone down the language. There's no need for all the curse words on here. Use respectful normal language, we'll understand the message just as well.

Just a quick update, I held up the powervision for now. I'm rethinking this now because I was able to tune it perfectly with zero decel pop and great performance (crazy fast torque). Plus I just replaced my plugs with iridium plugs, the ones I took out where beautiful. My plugs show it's running perfectly, and they looked beautiful when pulled out so I know I have my AFR mixture correct.

I am also contemplating going back to SS E carb. I have it lying around and I've always had great carb results so I might do that this winter and switch to single fire ignition. I'm honestly not sure yet because I literally got her running perfect this week, so I am going to run it for the season and see how it goes long term. Assuming she remains perfect, I might just skip the vision right now (summer season), and either go to carb conversion (winter), or continue with EFI and then this winter get the powervision. It's up the air right now, but getting it in perfect tune with ZERO decel pop (straight pipes with lollipops I made) changed everything. All I wanted was to be in tune with no pop, and I've achieved it (and it has insane power now), CRAZY torque and excellent top end, so I'm happy at the moment!

Thanks to everyone who chimed in, I'll update in a few weeks how it's going but I expect it will be perfect now!

I am definitely holding up the powervision until at least next year (if ever). The reason is simple, with my COBRA Fi2000R, I was able to fine tune it PERFECTLY! I mean PERFECTLY, far beyond ANYTHING I could EVER do or achieve with a carb (and I CANNOT believe those words, just uttered from my lips!!!) I was a carb guy, FORVER! Until now, EFI was my enemy, not anymore, not at ALL anymore!!! Forget my earlier comment about contemplating S&S (carb), not now, nor ever with this bike!!!!

My EFI / COBRA Fi2000R is running amazing, I dont know how else to say it, but this bike is FRIKIN PERFECT NOW!! She runs, BY FAR, the BEST OF any of my previous 15 models (all S&S carb) - mainly shovels (with a few evo's in the mix)!! No decel pop (and I have dragged the engine 5,500/6,000 RPMs down to idle, it RIPPED the gag gag gag gag (backlash) PERFECTLY from 5,5000/6000 RPMs to idle! Not a single decel pop, no issues with any pops (at ALL - not a single hiccup or pop or backfire) at ALL or any blips in running, nada!!! On top of the performance, it sounds amazing, its FLAWLESS and MUSIC to my ears!!! Plus its running INSANELY fast, from idle through WOT, its phenomenal now! I was completely shocked when I ended up TRIPPLING the recommended settings (from Cobra) for stage 1 (stage 2), with S&S air cleaner + drag pipes + EFI tuned + cams, its AMAZING! I WOT tested on the highway, and I swear, I almost pulled off the bike, it has SO MUCH torque and HP from idle through middle throttle to WOT, its CRAZY fast now and runs AMAZING!!!

This isn't to start an argument on what EFI manager is best, but I have to admit, I am REALLY happy with the COBRA Fi2000R!!! EXTREMELY happy and I cannot believe how well it performs now!!! I am EXTREMELY shocked and overall happy with the performance! I highly recommend the COBRA Fi2000R for anyone starting out in EFI (as I did). All previous shovels/evo's were all S&S carb / S&S cams, and most with port/polished heads, stroked/high compression pistons, ETC., and they couldnt TOUCH this bike! Seriously, now that I have my EFI in tune with the cams and pipes (plus S&S AC), its pure HP and pure torque that makes me smile, idle through WOT!!! I am now holding on for dear life if I punch it! Plus the straights make enough sound that I can be seen with my 7"LED daymaker, and heard from far enough away, that I am SAFE!!!

I AM A HAPPY BIKER AGAIN USING EFI!!!! I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT I FOUND SOMETHING I CAN TUNE BETTER, THAN AN S&S CARB!!!!

If anyone stumbles on this post in the future looking for this info (FI2000R for 96" - 2007 SG - stage 2), this is the final setting that works great:

POT 1 : 5
POT 2 : 4
POT 3 : 4

Cobra recommends:
POT 1 : 1.5
POT 2 : 2
POT 3 : 4

As you can see, its not always what the manufacturer recommends, in fact, using their "recommended settings", she ran like garbage. It took me a few months of tweaking each POT little at a time to get it right, but now its PERFECT!!!

I missed/forgot what cam you are running in your Stage II...?

I would suspect that those values change slightly depending on the cam....

this one, 551c, I asked SS for a good cam that's reliable with HP gain and gave them all the info (SS AC, cobra EFI, drags with lollipops, etc.), and asked for a reliable cam for every day driving. I want, low end oomphhh power when I needed/wanted it (and boy does she ever), but also work with stock compression (for now) and be reliable , that's what they recommend and it's great. New heads will eventually make it's way in my twin cam.

But yes agreed, those settings are what worked for me. It was more to let others know to play around and don't necessarily go by the book.

Not to revise my own / old thread, but I have a COOL update to share with everyone!

First, on the current Cobra EFI (piggyback) manager. I did just under 10,000 miles on the current Cobra EFI manager this season (Feb 2023 through current Dec 2023 --> I am still riding, weather permitting). I ride all year long, as long as there's no snow (so my bike isn't up for the season yet). When it is up for the season, I will remove the Cobra EFI and have some fun with the ECU flashing!

Here is my latest update: THIS MORNING, a client of mine sent me a Christmas gift (he rides as well). The gift was a brand new PC4 from Fuel Moto! We are also friends (but he started out as one of my clients). Earlier in the season, we were discussing EFI managers (he knows EFI) whereas this was my first EFI (out of the numerous Harleys I have owned), this is my first Twin Cam. Most of my bikes were shovels, with a few evo's in the mix, so EFI was new to me. Skip ahead to this forum post (I made earlier in the season), and I now contradicted myself and changing my priorities! As now I DO want to flash the ECU and NOT have anything piggybacked. It took me the season to understand / figure out the EFI differences (piggyback EFI vs ECU flash) through riding, tweaking the bike / testing changes, and discussing with other bikers. Now I am far more familiar and my client decided to surprise me with the brand new PC4! When it is here and I am done riding for the season, I will remove the Cobra, and start using my NEW PC4!

Now PLEASE dont get me wrong, or new readers (reading this) please dont misunderstand my point. I had GREAT, FANTASTIC results with the Cobra EFI piggyback unit. After I got her tuned, she ran most of the season flawlessly so do not misunderstand me as the product being bad or not working, quite the contrary! It ran phenomenal after fine tuning my EFI! Skip ahead to current (12/7/23) and now that I know my EFI system much better than earlier (when I created this post / question), my requirements have changed. I no longer want to piggyback anymore, and the Cobra still functions perfectly, but I want a direct ECU flash without the worry of a piggyback unit.

When I mentioned all of this to my client / friend, he surprised me with the PC4 gift so its on the way! I figured I would update the thread with my latest hardware and what I am using now. I CANNOT WAIT to get it, flash the ECU and start playing around with the PC4 options!
