PC4 is on the way and be here in 2 days! Now the question is do I keep riding the rest of the season with the Cobra, OR swap it out ASAP and ride the rest of the year with PC4? My fear is screwing up my flawless setup (for the last few weeks of the season) just to play / start using the PC4. I know I could always undo the flash (flash back my saved / default flash) and install the Cobra piggybacks (if something went wrong), but I really dont want to do that. I dont like double work, so should I risk removing the Cobra piggyback, and start flashing the ECU with the PC4, OR wait until next season?
I am not a patient man (with new toys), and I LOVE tech toys, so it would burn a hole in my brain, NOT to set it up (or at least play with it). I am thinking I will remove the Cobra, and flash away (unless others recommend not to and wait till spring)...

I enjoy playing around with tuning....
I say remove the Cobra and try a few flash tunes...
Set aside one day to play with the tuner & try the flashed tune..
Worse case scenario is you can't get the flashed tune to work to your expectations. Then you can flash back the OEM tune and reattach the Cobra.... and play again with a flashed tune another day...
The PV4 tuner is not a full service tuner. You will not be able to adjust with quick tune, or do an auto tune session like with a full service PV tuner, but you should still enjoy the process...

Thanks for replying, I like your plan of attack! Its similar to what I was thinking as well. As noted, I was/am new to EFI and managers, especially ECM flashers'. When you say its not a full service tuner, do you mean it is a full service tuner, but without the auto / quick tunes available? Meaning, I can use the PV4 to tune every aspect of the device, but I cant get auto tune's from it? Right, is that what you mean (sorry for the dumbness, new to ECM flashing still)? If so, that's OK, I dont think I wanted to auto tune it, I like to manually tune things by ear (yeah I know, not a carb anymore), but still, my brain is old school.
I thought the PC4 was the newest, best available for my EFI ('07 TC Super Glide). It doesn't change anything because it was gifted from my client (and on the way) so I cant change anything but I did think I was getting the latest/greatest tuner (when he and I discussed earlier in the summer).

I absolutely love my PV4 that I also got from FuelMoto and they gave me quite a few tunes to try for what my combination is for my 2008 Fat Bob . I have more power everywhere and still get great gas mileage for my long comutes to work and back .

Nice, thank you for the post! Do I need to worry about what hattitude noted with the auto tunes? I am not sure I would or would not use auto tune, but now I am little nervous (but still VERY excited)! I am reading up on it as much as I can, and from what I read, others seem to LOVE it. I dont see to many negative posts about the PV4 (so I hope I got the right one). I thought the PV4 was the latest/greatest FULL tuner, so what am I misunderstanding?

That I am not sure about myself . FuelMoto would be able to answer any questions you have I bet. When I bought mine, I'm gave them all the details of what I have, mods I did , and how I ride and they sent me a bunch of tunes they have from previous knowledge that they know work and I found one that fit what I wanted .

The PowerVision family of tuners each have various abilities, and the cost reflects what they can do....
The PV4 is the newest model flash tuner, but it is NOT a full service tuner like the Original PowerVison tuner. There are several functions it cannot perform, thus NOT full service....
It is the cheapest of their tuners, but it is capable of tuning your bike... especially with FuelMoto's tune support...
Here is a chart showing the three DynoJet tuners and their capabilities.... The prices listed may not be current, I believe this chart is a year old or so...

OK thanks, that helps, I understand now. That's basically what I thought. All good, and what I thought I was getting. When the term, full tuner came into play, I got confused.
We actually went over this PDF comparison before we decided on the PV4 (it wasn't really a surprise surprise) but basically a thank you for my work. We had discussed tuners but I wasn't expecting him to outright get it for me so I'm just making sure I didn't screw myself. The PV4 was what I wanted with options so I am excited and think I'll be pretty happy with the options I see that I can change. It looks like there are far more than I would ever use so I think I'm cool with it.
It will be here tomorrow, however I'll probably not use it right away, I'm trying to get the rest of the season in before I put her up for winter. I will definitely follow-up as I do use it and how it's going for me.
I was hit in 95 on a freshly restored 75 shovel FX, 80 year old bat ran a stop sign hitting me dead on. Died twice in heli to ER. I ONLY run straight pipes since, and have been in all 14 previous bikes including my current EFI super glide and that won't change. I'll never have O2 bungs or sensor so I'll never use open loop/auto tune so I'm good without those options.
And before anyone chimes in on straight pipes and performance, I'm aware. I built lollipops for exhaust reversion and will NEVER run ANYTHING but straight pipes so don't bother trying to change my mind. It won't happen, I don't care if it makes me gain 100HP, ain't changing a thing in my mind. I will not be unheard again! I'm not a jerk with my pipes, I clutch for dogs and people, and only tweak it to be heard when unseen, otherwise I am VERY respectful with my noise.
Again, thank you all for replying and helping me!

He gave them my info (fuelmotto) and what I have done to the bike
If I could ask another dumb newb EFI question (I am a carb guy), but my question is this. With the PV4 and using the Power Core software, cant I edit the fields that are in essence the same fields an "auto tuner" would provide? Meaning, I now understand and realize the differences between PV and PV4 (thanks to everyone here in this forum for helping me), now I understand the PV4 is less for on-device learning (AKA auto tune), and more of a Bluetooth flasher, with the "tuning" work performed on the PC (Power Core C3 tuning software). What I am wondering / asking is this, I am an engineer, a senior system engineer in my day job, so I tweak, and hack things all day long and love to learn / hack / ETC., so using the core software, couldnt I figure out the same results as an auto tune one (over time) and manually modify those fields in the core software, then flash it to my Super Glide and get the same results? I am asking more if the functionality is in the PV4, not how to do it. I understand without auto tune, I am crap shooting, and guessing, but couldnt I tweak the settings little by little to achieve a decent tune?
What I am worried about is the PV4 lacking parameters that say, the power vision may have, for example. I downloaded and opened the "cloud tune" Fuel Motto sent me, and from there, I can see/change "Spark Advance", this is just for example. BUT assuming I set these to different numbers, then write those params to the ECU. Can I do the same changes with the PV4 the PV would (not auto tune) just the actual parameters, or are there more available with the PV (than the PV4 has), if so, like what? I just want to make sure I am not limited to my editing power with the PV4 before I marry it to my bike (in case I decide to go another tuner). As of right now, it is still brand new, unopened, in the box (delivered today). I dont want to burn myself with having a newer product, but one that is limited with what it can do. HOWEVER, if its NOT limited, and I CAN edit the same things the Power Vision (or PV with auto tune) has with using my new PV4 (making manual changes in the software on my PC), then I am happy and will keep the PV4. But I would like 100% confirmation on this piece.
Does this make sense what I am asking, if not, I am sorry. I dont explain things very well when trying to figure something out. This is my map from FM, I am just playing around with options, and assuming it allows me to edit everything the same as a Power Vision, then no need for auto tune, but I would like confirmation before I marry it.
Thanks in advance!
