I've used Dri-Slide for years ... Excellent stuff ... Nor sure it's "compatible" with the newer ( lined ) cables though
Per Barnett cables, it is, and they recommend it for their coated cables, by name...
"Q: What type of cable lube do I use? A:All Barnett cables are Teflon, nylon, or HDPE lined. Cable end fittings should be kept clean and lubed with a light grease or oil. If you wish to lube the internal cable, use a silicone spray, Teflon spray, dri-slide, etc. Do not use heavy oils or grease that can attract dirt."

Is Barnett an OEM supplier to HD?
my bikes is an 07 Dyna with factory cables
Not to my knowledge. They are one of the highest quality aftermarket cable suppliers and they recommend the Dri-lube for their "Teflon, nylon, or HDPE lined" cables. IMHO, that recommendation means it should be good for any cables, lined or unlined.
I used to use oil on all my cables back in the shovel head days. Then I read about the coated cables many years ago. It has always been my understanding that oils can dissolve some of the cable coatings, at least the early cable coatings, over time. They also attract dirt/dust that can cause drag on the cable's operation. So if you have a lined cable, you need to be wary of using oils.
IMHO.... Using Dri-Lube should take the guess work out of what to use for coated or uncoated cables...
FWIW..... It's totally anecdotal, but I have used Dri-Lube for years now, with good results. I currently use it for the cables on my '01 Softail, '03 Softail, '16 Bagger, and '16 Dyna. I used to keep track of which cables were coated and uncoated from the factory... I thought oil was best on uncoated and teflon lubricant best on coated cables. Since I started using Dri-Lube, I have lost track of whether cables are coated or not. I use Dri-Lube on every cable.
Trick with Dry Slide, you need open it when you first get it and thoroughly stir it up. The graphite tends to settle in the bottom and clumps up sitting on a shelf, just shaking it doesn't mix it well.
I use this on my ignition and fork lock and around the house on door handles, hinges and anywhere a key goes. Havent used it on bike cables but now thinking Ill give it a try. Impressed on how it works on everything else.
