Checking the brake master cylinder function
I have a 96 Dyna Super Glide. The service manual says to check the front brake master cylinder function with the cover off the master cylinder and: "Actuate the brake lever. Check to be sure there is a small spurt of fluid breaking the fluid surface when actuating the brake lever." Does this only apply to the front master cylinder? The front and rear master cylinders are different. How do you check proper operation of the rear master cylinder? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You!
Brake Check Procedure - Choose a street with no traffic. Accelerate to 35 mph. Hit front brake and come to a stop. Works? Repeat with rear. Works? If yes to both, your brakes are working.
