I'm looking at adding things fairly gradually. Starting off with usual sissy bar, but adding the 105th Anniversary pad and flat medallion. Like most of the folks I've talked to and who've commented in the forums, I'm not particularly impressed with the black and copper paint scheme; I'm even less impressed with how much they want for the "105th treatment." After that, I'm adding an engine guard. I'm a fan of the guardsfrom experience with the Sporty. It serves a couple of purposes for me. Back the Sporty experience, it does a damn good job of protecting the engine parts when dropping it, don't ask. The other thing is that with highwaypegs on the guard, I can hold off on adding the forwards a little farther down the line. After that, I'm adding the chromebraid brake lines and control cables. Somewhere in there I'll put on a pair of Cycle Shack slip-ons; I have them on the Sporty and like the sound. And finally, I know, who am I kidding, I'll do the stage one.

I looked at having the dealership do some of the stuff, but when I looked at their 10% discount and after subtracting the 6.25% tax here in Texas, I wasn't getting much of a savings, especially after adding labor. I've done most of the work on my Sporty so the only thing that I'm a little unsure of is adding the forwards, but with all the great advice here, I doubt I'll have any problems.

I have an 07 superglide custom in vivid black. Technically, a lighter color absorbs less solar radiation and stays slightly cooler than a black bike. This causes it to create slightly less drag and be slightly faster.

Of course this is total bull sh** (I think) that I just made up. But I'm sure your going to love your bike.

Enjoy

Fred,

I love it! I wonder how many guys or gals would stand there nodding their heads in agreement or arguing against it? It'd be great to throw that out at the next biker/rider/enthusiast meeting and then stand back and watch the results with a smile.

Take it easy and thanks for the laugh,
Royce

Happy to be of service-and, I've learned from you to be careful with duct tape.

Yeah, we've all heard this one before...

Speaking from personal experience (I told myself and my wife the same thing), good luck with that!
