So I just bought my first Dyna. Owned a Sportster and a Softail before and currently have a Road Glide so I needed another bike for the city etc. Found a 2007 Super Glide and got a good deal so I thought why not.
Now having the fall and winter to figure out what mods to do and thats fun to. Here some photos of its current state.
Good looking bike. I did the same thing. I have a 20 RG Limited that is great to travel on, but kind of a bear around town. I found a low mile 09 FXD really cheap and have been enjoying the hell out of it. I put on some really aggressive dirt style tires (Michelin Anakee) so I don't have to turn around when the pavement ends like the RG. The previous owner put on forward controls so I went back to mids and just cleaned the thing up(it had been under a tarp in the back yard). This is not my first Dyna but I had forgotten how well they handle. Have fun with yours. Lotta bang for the buck.
My Dyna is all I need. I dont need any frills like cruise control, stereo, and other things that are great for touring. I love the old school type rides I did all my life. I love to ride and enjoy the freedom. I feel every bump, smell every dead animal, and hear the rumble of that motor in the wind. Its a great bike to do the basics ! Enjoy.
ser ju väldigt clean ut köpte precis en street bob att ersätta road gliden med, skönt med en smidigare hoj dĺ jag ändĺ inte kommer iväg pĺ nĺn touringsväng.

Agree mids all the way for me, I will look into the Ankee tires since I ride most of the year

I think we can do allright with what we got but I have to say. I got my Road Glide in June and then I went om a trip down in Europe, 10 000 km 6000 miles, 10 countries and I must say, its quite impressive. The stock chassis is realy quite good to especially considering the weight of the bike and I think the more or less sport bike wheels helps to.
I also spent quit alot of time on Autobahn through Germany where there is no speed limits going around 160 km/h 100 miles/per hour and the same through Poland , Slovakia and northern Italy because no police cares and the roads are amazing with long sweeping corners. Then the wind shield and fairing is a must but sure at more normal speeds not that necessary. When I got home, I got the Klock Werks 14" sport Flare and its perfect for my height and with the handebars I also replaced for better control.
Yeah , I will use tha Dyna as my daily rider and for active riding and fun! I expect it to be abit more engaging then the softail
