Hello everyone, i have a 1996 Wide Glide and when I bought the bike the previous owner had added some stuff to the bike. It never really ram as it should, you ask how i know I owned a 95 before. he add a SS carb and pipes and mufflers and the other thing he added is why i am asking this. It was a CRANE CAMS HI4 which has 5 wires coming out of it going to where ever they put it at. the bike will not start and I was told the Module has gone out. I am installing a Mallory Accel Ignition Module. My question is does anyone have or know where I could go and get the original wiring diagram so I can go back to stock. The Crane am one has 5 wires coming from it, which is Red, Green, Brown, White and Black. The Accel has 3 wires which are Red, Green and Brown. So that is why a titled this wiring for dummies. an someone please give me some help on this, I figure that I am going to have to rewire everything they put in just to get this part put in and get the bike to running. THANK YOU VERY MUCH...
One problem I see is that you likely have a an ignition pickup for a external ignition module which is the stock setup. It probably cose about $100. The crane hi4 is a self contained unit.. You will need to replace the crane unit with something like a Dynatek 2000i or Daytona Twin tech that has similar wiring and more cost.
Ok guys lets try this. Does anyone know how the wiring should be from the coil to under the cover?
Sorry, I am new here and was just trying to explain the problem I am having,
So from now on it will be short and maybe sweet.

Simple the one you have has to go through an Ignition control module.. It can't connect directly to the coil. You might want to get a service manual and find where it's located of if it's still on the bike.. If not go with the ignition modules listed above.. There are others too..
If you want someone to hold your hand, find an old fart that is local or take it to a shop.
