Hi Dyna Riders so I'm a Bagger guy but I'm helping out a buddy with his new to him 2010 Street Bob. We had plans to flash his bike with the FuelMoto custom tune on a brand new Dynojet Power Vision 3. The problem is we cannot find his diagnostic plug anywhere. The little clip area for the plug is under the left cover but no plug. We looked everywhere for it but can't even find the wiring for it.
We stopped looking for the day after a 3 hole oil change and other maintenance and it was getting dark. Does anyone have any idea where the plug could be? We removed the right cover, the seat, the battery and battery box after striking out with the left side area. It's really strange.
On my '14, left side cover, most bottom right, kind of a putty-bone colored connection about half the size of your thumb. The good thing is it's on a very short leash of thick wire bundle so it can't have gotten very far!
Silly question but you're looking for a 4 pin plug, not 6? It should be under the left side cover.
Yes we are looking for the gray colored plug that should be under the left side cover and it's not there. The storage location is there but not the Plug. Not being a wise guy but I know what the plug looks like as I've flashed my 16SGS and 20RKS both of which have their plugs stored under the left side cover and are identical in looks to the Dyna plug. It's really crazy we can't find it as the wiring harness would not allow it to go far but even the wires are not there. The pic in the Dynojet directions show the wires coming up from the bottom of the bike.

I know that's what we were both saying the wires can't be that long so it should be close by and we searched with no luck. We will try again for sure but it shouldn't be this hard to locate. We are both retired USAF jet engine mechanics so this isn't our first rodeo. I've been wrenching on Harley's and other bikes since the 70's.
So I went back to the Dynojet instructions and they state 2012-2017 Dyna models are under the left side cover. His bike is a 2010 could it be somewhere else maybe?
That's strange yours might be different. This picture is exactly what we are seeing under his left cover but where the gray plug with red wires is we only see the little slide in storage area. I'm sorry I didn't mean to sound like an *** about our skill level, I'm just frustrated right now. This is his first Harley coming from the Import bike world and not only could we not find his plug to flash the bike. I ended up finding his inner shift shaft lever is stripping the transmission shaft because I guess the original owner never put a allen wrench on the lever bolt in 6k miles. The shift linkage has so much slop in it and when I inspected the lever and shaft behind the inner primary I was amazed it was even changing gears.

I'm realizing now in the Dynojet pic the plug with the red wire is from the PV3 and the wires for the bike plug should be coming from the inside of the mounting bracket holding the main fuse and other fuses.
