Default Fairing for Single Head Light Fat Bob

2017 FXDF

So one of the 1st mods I did was to ditch the Harry Potter dual headlight and go with a single 5.75" in a back HD housing.

I love it

Now I'm considering a full Dyna Bro club style fairing. What are the options? If I look at Street Bob fairing the forks are different diameters. I fi go with Wide Glide the for angles are different.

Is there an easy answer?

THX.

If you go the Memphis Shades route , you just need the right fork kit and you can install any of their fairings I bet . I have an 08 Fat Bob and kept the dual lights and have a bat wing on it .

Depends on the style you're looking for. Krator as a single light smaller style (I believe Memphis Shades has one too) . If you're looking to go like FXRP style you have a few more options...Villin 2 hero or klokworks.

The forks are the same diameter between all '17 dynas (49mm), the difference is the width of the forks/ triple tree. I believe the fat bob and wide glide are the same width (wide glide front end). While all other dynas have a more narrow mid-glide front end. The angle of the forks doesn't matter much because most of the fairings you're probably considering and for sure the Memphis shades fairings have some adjustment built into the mounting backets. Not only the clamps on the forks but also where the bracket attaches to the faring itself.

Long story short, if you want an easy bolt on fairing without having to make or modify any brackets any single headlight style fairing for a dyna from Memphis shades with wide glide brackets will work.

I have a not very common Rifle Roadster fairing on my 09 Fat Bob. Yes, it takes a bit of ingenuity to mount up but it's not too bad.

I used Memphis Shades fork clamps that fit up to 50mm fork tubes and then the rest of the bracketry that came with the fairing was used to mount it. Most important part is the lower mounts. Don't do the single bolt that connects under the headlight bracket. Drill two holes laterally(look closely at the fairing lower in the picture)

and a bolt through to a bracket works fine. It does take some fiddling to get he fairing orientated right in regards to fore/aft adjustment, centered around the headlight and level left to right. To me it was worth the bit of time to run a bit different fairing than all the T-Sport fairings and Memphis Shades ones running around. That and I think the Rifle just looks cool in it's own way.
