As promised, here is a pic of the parts I have in my parts bin:
The part numbers were checked from a '85-'90 Softail parts catalog & '97 parts catalog for the EVO part numbers. The part numbers for the Twin Cam parts are from an '03 & a '16 parts catalog.
Both EVOs and TCs use the same Cover Spring Cap #17945-36B and Spring #17947-36. They also use the same o-rings, top to bottom; #11157 (superseded part #11293), 11132 (superseded #11132A), 11145 (superseded #11145A).
I sure hope I was able to keep all the part numbers straight as I copied them from notes I made.
Here's the pic of the parts, with two rulers in between for reference....
From left to right:
EVO bottom P/R cover #17938-83, EVO Spring Cap Retainer #17950-66 /
S&S Pushrod covers/retainer clips that come with S&S Quickie Adjustable Pushrod set /
Twin Cam Upper P/R cover #17948-99, Bottom P/R cover #17939-99, and Spring Cap Retainer #17968-99.
I do not knowingly have an EVO upper pushrod cover #17935-79B. So it is not in the picture..
Thank you very much. So I need 2,5" long cover keepers...
Well, I am confused. I got the email from S&S technical support that correct length is 2.4".... and it seems that 2.5" are really hard to get, but 2.4" are widely available.

A reminder, my pics are for S&S pushrod covers I purchased for, and used on, a 2003 Twin Cam engine... They fit and didn't leak... I went back to solid pushrods and so I also went back to OEM Twin Cam Pushrod covers...
Here are the S&S retainer clip lengths as measured by my two, different digital calipers;
If you still have your stock tubes and keepers at hand you can use them to figure this out. The combined length of tube and keeper should stay the same, so you need keepers that are as much longer than stock as your S&S tubes are shorter than the stock tubes, if that makes any sense.
