Nope ! go see how much money they want for the tins. Yer can save a lot of money with a 07 bike and git the same warranty. My brother in law checked it out.
If you got about 2500.00 that you don't care about sure. But when you buy the tins it takes some money and or time to change it out.
If I had Ross Peroles money I'd buy a 07 bike instead of a 08.
news flash folks, the MOCO doesn't tell the dealer **** until the dealer conference each July, and the info is only for that upcoming year.
It very well could be the end of the WG this year, thats not my point.
Oh ! YOU had a point in that. What was it dude. I seemed to miss it. Heh ! Heh !
I think you got my point
I can't believe we are already talking about '09 and the '08's have barely hit the floor. This type of chatter usually doesn't start until March or April
Look at the work required to take the wires loose from the gas tank. little on the sensors in the tank and everything to remove and reinstall the tank. . And to remove the back fender all the wires lights and everything.
The answer is NO ! i'd rather buy a 07 model in a color I like and come out without all the work and ride . For 2600.00 I can do a Indy 103 build on my bike.
I would rather try to find one at a reduced blowout price and get 2K off the bike instead of add 2K + for custome paint. Not to mention all of the work required to remove and replace the tins. I have seen them for 15K and up at different dealers. can anyone recommend a great dealership...No this is not a loaded question.

Wow! it is not that big of a deal to change the tins out on a bike, even with all the wires etc... you have to remove and reinstall.
Tuff all of us my not be as young as you and see as good as you. So we deceide to buy a bike already build with the tins on it. theirs enough mods to spend money on yer bike without changing the paint color. They still have 07 bikes with good colors out there if you don't stall.
What are the best WG colors? Any opinions? I always seem to go for black. Also is there another bike out there that rides like the Wide Glide. Is the SB comparable in riding position and feel?
You can go to the H-D web site and compare the bikes. You can go rent the bikes. You have to deceide what kind of riding you want to do. Bar hoppin, Touring. short runs. ridable bike that's alll around. The same bike is not for everybody. I'm glad they make as many styles as they do. If yer 5'5" and I'm 5'10". We will probally be driving a different type of bike. Also are you gonna ride 2 up.
I like the Wide glide because of the raked front end, the bobbed rear fender, forward controls, mini apes. Where the shocks are,the longer length of the bike and the ground clearance. This enables it to fit me and the kind of riding I do. I like to really lay into the curves weather I'm by myself or have the old lady on the back. For ME the Wide Glide is a great riding bike. And I like to ride all kinds of roads and conditions.
I tried to cheat last year and got a street bob, but I was draggin the parts on the side of the bike real easy with the old lady on back and there just wasn't enough room. So I traded it in, not because there was anything wrong with it. but because it didn't fit my style of riding. I'm a real aggressive rider.
And yer 1st choice might not be yer best choice, that's why I said Rent a bike and ride it for a day.
