I would like to change my headlight to a bullet style headlight on my 1996 Dyna Lowrider (FXDL). I seems like it would be possible, although I have my indicator lights (neutral ind., turn signals etc.) that is mounted in the visor that covers the headlamp. Is there a relocation kit for the indicator lights and can the headlamp be swapped for a bullet style? Can someone point me in the right direction with preferrable a kit that allows this?
The change to a billet or WG type HL should be pretty easy, just drill a proper mounting hole in the lower triple tree clamp. Relocating the idiot lights is a little more of a pain. You might want to look into getting a cast off speedo mount from a 1999-2004 Superglide which mounted the speedo on the handlebar clamp, but has a cutout below the gauge for the indicator lights. Modifying the mount by removing the speedo mount ring and doing a little work on the remaining bracket could give you what you want w/o a lot of cash outlay except for the H/L.
Thats what i told him he could even get one off from a sporster. we could cut it down and i could powdercoat it. but will he listen to his friggen brother?
There was a thread not too long ago (not sure where on the forum) that someone drilled their new headlight and put the idiot lights in it. It looked like it was professionally done.

I ran my '02 FXDL for a few years w/ a bottom mount HL. Now it's got A stock WG front end. Idrilled the lower tree. No problems, it's only a little 3/8 hole. There will be no structural integrity issues. Do it you'll like it. I got rid of all the idiot lights, (who needs them) except for the engine oil light which I drilled a hole in the dash & stuck it in there.
