Am already planning for my firse 'Ride toSturgis' next year (From Libery Hill, Tx). Have heard that it is hard to find non-ethanol fuel in Kansas (and other corn producing states). Has anyone else encountered this?
I just dont want to burn any 'flukey' fuel in my bike.

You plan on driving in any county that touches dallas and tarrant? It is the law that the surrounding counties have ethanol fuel (10%) and has been for years,and my last three harleys have run just fine on it,also isnt that true for houston? Do you just get gas somewhere else?

10k and run whatever is cheapest. IMHO it is a marketing gimmick to have you run Premium with only a 9.5:1 compression ratio.

I thought 10% ethanol was required by federal law? some places might be higher but i think 10% is minimum.

There's plenty of Ethanol here in Nebraska but no problem finding premium either. I have used both without a problem.

didn't have any issues with 10% in the 02, lately been burning mid grade every other tank filling up when tank is at 1/4 full. gas around sturgis was questionable regarding octane rarings. 89 to 90 for hi test, but most stations also little packets for harleys to mix with 5 gals. the temps were in the 90's and some nice hills equaled pinging. might want to stock up on some octane booster if you believe in it. ride safe
