I'd get new new seals washers for the connections that are taken apart during the pricess. And I'd also likely flush the brake fluid since I'm working on that anyway. As menttioned, get a good quality brake fluid of the same DOT type and use a new container. Not one that has been sitting on the shelf foe the last 6 months or longer.

However, to me a crush washers goes on sparkplugs and some oilpan plugs like Subies for one.
Just curious, in what way is it backwards? Do you have a photo of the situation?
so I noticed other bikes have it facing the other way so that the line is in towards the forks mine is facing out which causes the line to be away from the forks. It works fine but it doesn't look right
What does the caliper end look like? Maybe the hose ends are on the wrong way? As in the fitting/hose end on the master should be on the caliper instead?
I ask because from the pic, if you turned over the banjo to face the hose inward, the hose may not route right. Looks sorta like it would have to go down in front of the top triple clamp, and then behind the headlight, then behind the lower triple clamp then to the caliper. Maybe it's just the angle of the pic?
Maybe it could just go across in front of the handlebar and then down behind the upper triple clamp?
From your second pic. I do now think you could turn it inward, go in front of the handlebar upright, then go over the handlebar center section, then go behind the upper triple clamp. That should work.
If your is anything like my '07. Where the handlebar ground wire attaches to the upper triple tree near the risers, there should also be a hose clamping thing to hold the brake hose,

Yup, that is definitely backwards. Good lord, who did that?
An easy way to make the swap is remove the caliper. Pump the master a little to get the pistons out some. To swap the fitting and get the master so it's setting level, do the work, then push the caliper piston back in.. If you have done the scheduled flush, might be worth doing but the process I describe bleeds the air out of the system if done right. Make sure to crack the AN3 fitting before removing the banjo bolt. Pack those blue absorbent mechanics towels everywhere. Don't use regular paper towels..
