It seems all DYNAS have the stain above the engine case and engine tranny seams. However, there as many different answers as there are people answering the threads. In fact the thread has run three different times, over this past year. From no engine /tranny gasket to there is a small gasket, to poruous tranny cases, and to it just engine friction filings. They all do have in common though that isthe dealerships dont want to do anything about it.
However Beman from this forum states that his in the shop w/ the enigne pulled to fix the problem. He may have the answer as well as the right dealer.[&:]
Here is the key ladies/gnets I used to work at the at a dealer in the service department so when the problem occoured I had an idea but still called old friends and techs and got the word on what could be the problem. When I went to the local shop I asked them what they had seen and made it clear that I knew what I was talking about maybe more so than they did unless they had 10 or more years expirence but also said that other bike techs had some ideas as well. Some bike do have a weep their and it is not a big deal but I would apprecitae if they would take a look at it for me since I need a new master cyclnder anyway. They looked closer found a bigger problem than either I or the Service Writer were expecting the gasket refered to above was leaking so they went ahead and fixed it. Without the proper research and history of working on theHD's I can see the situation ending much different. I am jsut glad they pulled the motor cuz now that I have moved on to different things I dont have that kind of time on my hands even thought it is my first real love.
I've got a stain on my primary cover at the top left bolt just about the cluctch. It's an elongated stain and doesn't wash/clean off.
However, the dealer's svc. dept. did not tighten my master cyclinder cover and brake fluid stained my cam cover, primary covers (both inner and outer). It left black stains on the silver cover that will not come out. Dealer would not take care of the mechanics mistake either. I even offered to buy the cases, since he suggested going to chrome, at dealers costs and the mechanic could repair the mistake after work and I would help out since I'm a decent wrench on my own.
NOPE! Dealer tried to make it out as my fault, maybe I ran over battery acid on the road. Well, I didn't think he would be losing out much money to fix the problem, especially since I would pay for the cases, but he wanted to offer me a 15% discount on the parts and I'd have to pay the labor. About $1200 bucks! Too bad - dealer has lost all my business and I can assure you it is more than what his lost would be on fixing the problem which HIS SHOP CREATED.
Needless to say, this silver powder coat is pretty crappy stuff. Stains easily.
