I bought new tires for my 2009 FXD from Cycle Gear. They were the Harley Davidson - branded tires that came on the bike and I don't remember the date codes, but I remember thinking they were only a few months old. I also thought the price was pretty decent.
My new to me '98 Dyna came with nearly new Shinko 777's and they are much better than I expected, good grip wet and dry. A set is only about $240 and I'll buy them when the time comes.

If you're not mounting them yourself, make sure there is a shop nearby that will. Where I am, HD Dealers won't touch parts you bring in. If you want them to mount a tire, you have to buy it from them. It sucks, but from a liability standpoint I get it.
I got a good deal on tires from Ebay but then couldn't find a shop to install them without a $50 each install add charge. Second set of tires for the other bike, I bought them in person and the overall price was cheaper than with the surcharge. I went with the new American Elites on the Fatboy and Metzelers on the Dyna. Love them both.
