True story: This past weekend a got a letter from Verizon saying that they were raising my FIOS (Internet access) by $13 a month effective in October.Since customer service is closed on the weekends, I have two days to stew about it and rehearse the ***-chewing I'm going to give some poor Verizon customer service rep first chance I get.
Monday morning rolls around. I call Verizon customer service and I'm ready to rip someone a new a$$hole. I'm put through almost immediately to a pleasantEnglish-as-a-first-language customer service rep named "Ann". Uh oh. This might not be as easy as I thought.
20 minutes later, I've not only renewed my FIOS service for another 2 years, I have upgraded my Verizon phone service.
Moral of this story? Either these companies hire really good customer service reps - or I really suck at negotiations. (I think it's the latter.)
By the way, FIOS totally rocks!

and the same reason why i dont bother calling microsoft on the phone any longer.
