Default Price??

Hello...been lufking for a bit...first post.
Talked to dealer yesterday about the purchase of the Street Bob.
Total price out the door...$16,485.00 I asked to see the break down of the price...everything looked straight...but they wanted almost $900 for dealer set up...he said $300 was factory charge and the rest was for them to get the bike ready.
Two questions...First, I am in Arizona...is this a fair price???
Second, is that steep for the set up??

Thanks for the help...January is when it comes in..if I put the down today

Jeff

Default RE: Price??

Hi Jeff...

Look around bro. I live in San Diego, where prices are the most, & I got it for $15662 out the door, with alarm, black denim & everything else. I would call all the Harley places around & find the best price for what you want. At first, my price was around yours. I put a refundable $1000 down & had to wait like you. I got on Harley's website, & called every dealership I could find. LA Harley offered me the same bike at $15900, so I called back to my dealer & they gave me my current price. It's worth it bro. Hope it works out for you.

Later,
Chap

Default RE: Price??

I am about to put my '05 up for sale due to unforeseen circumstances, and while it kills.... I have to do what I have to do. My point is that I wouldn't pay that amount for a stock Street Bob when you could have an '05 with only 1600 miles, a 5-year warranty, and about 3k in additions, for just slightly more.

Just to mention a few things:

v & h big shots staggered (stock mufflers included)
power commander installed
Arlen Ness Big Sucker Air Cleaner
switch housing chromed
kuryakyn pegs and grips, including highway pegs (all match)
sundowner seat with sissy bar (also includes stock seat)
chrome license plate
chrome battery, electric coil, etc.
Harley circular rearview mirrors - original HD part
low profile Harley smoked quick release windshield - original HD part
Harley Davidson cover - original HD part
HD bags included (large T-Bag and Day Bag that fit over sissy bar) - original HD part
relocated turn signals in front (dropped off of handlebars)
all stock parts included
all services done at dealership

1600 miles, black pearl, and 5 year warranty extension.

Get my drift? Let me know if you are interested. My email is ricardob@***.net Some of you remember me when I was asking a thousand questions last spring, but things happen and the bike has to go. Pictures available, and anyone close enough to Orange County is welcome to come over to check it out. This bike turns heads!

Check the HD home page, they have a set price for the entire country for shipiping then the make ready should not be over 300 for the dealer. I have a 05 LowRider, my dealer wanted $900 for make ready and shipping so I just offered them $500 less total.

Hey yellow....

What a great idea !! I printed that page out from Harley & putting it in my stuff for when I go pay for my bike. When they show me there price, i'll match it up. Thanx for the tip. Who knows, may save a few more bucks.

Thanx

Don't bother telling HD. They don't care 'cause the dealers are all independents. If they'd cared, the dealers wouldn't have been charging $2-4-6 thousand over msrp a couple years ago. If the dealer is gonna screw you over on the set up charge, imagine what he'll do later on. Go elsewhere.

That price is totally unreasonable. I would be shopping somewhere else. Used is as great way to go sometimes. You can get more bike.

I agree with bigbird. Get hosed now, get hosed later. I have a black denim and went out the door at msrp. For that much more you could get a plane ticket somewhere, have a cool first ride, and save some bucks.
