Ok, so, I have a set of 05 dyna gauges Im trying to make work on my 84 FXR with a 2013 touring drivetrain using the thunderheart ignition system (no ECM)
so Im trying to figure out where the databus wire goes. The rest of the wiring I can figure out, but without an ecm, Im wondering where I can run this wire to. Im attaching picture for reference
I'm running the same ignition on my EFI to Mikuni HSR 42 07 Dyna. Please que the Mission Impossible theme song . . . Ya gotta work with what ya got, an 84 FXR. 2013 Twin Cam drive train dictated what ignition would work with Crank Trigger. You have overlooked the simple fact 84 FXR's had NO DATA PORT. WHY? Duhhh, MECHANICAL speedometer and no EFI. In other words, that sh*t ain't gonna fly. Basically ya need a speedometer drive, cable and speedometer for the 84 FXR.
Those gauges won't work, they came off of a bike with electronics that your bike doesn't have
and can't be modified. Totally different control systems.
