Default My winter plan

Here is the winter plan I have for my 1996 Dyna Lowrider. Please tell me what you think, either way...pros and cons.

Of course the narrow glide front end is going...only to be replaced with either an OEM Wide Glide front end with 41mm forks, or the conversion kit and my stock 39's. I am not sure which whay I am leaning yet,and any suggestionswould be appreciated.
I am then lowering the rear end (shocks), by 1" - 1-1/2", whatever I can safely get away with as my wife rides on the back still.
I am replacing the OEM kickstand with an Arlen Ness forward (frame) mounted kickstand, and adding a side mounted license plate bracket.
I am adding a bullet style headlight and replacing that ugly headlight cover with a replacement bracketavailable from Headwindsto relocate the idiot lights.
I am also adding a set of Paul Yaffe (X-pipes), and then having it tuned to these pipes if necessary.
So..sounds like every other Lowrider conversion to date probably huh??

So..performance wise taking rake and trail into consideration, will I be alright just switchingto the Wide glide front end (stock length), and lowering the shocks by less than 2"?

Thanks
Swampy

swampy -
like it - sounds well thought out.
i think the stock wg tubes are a couple inches longer than the lowrider.
if you lower the rear of your lowrider, and lengthen the front at the same time, you are really going to slow the steering down quite a bit.
if you keep your stock tubes, and lower the back, the sterring will slow a little - but should be fine.
I would go with a full front change with beefier fork tubes

I agree. And if you lower the rear, you can always slide the tubes up in the tree a little bit...

Should look killer!

i think you got a great planned going the beefer forks cant go wrong there. lowering the back you might want to do the front first. then go from there you may not havta drop it that far. but it does sound great . best of luck.
