Default Odd Brake Noise

Just noticed this when rolling the bike backward down the driveway the other day. it's a weird 'click" on the release of the lever, and not it's not the lever hitting the stop making the noise. It is definitely coming from near the hub. There are dual Brembo calipers on the front and a visual inspection does not look like the pads are sticking and suddenly releasing. Fasteners have been checked and are all at spec. I also have a new set of Bitubo carts in the fork legs, doubt it's that but thought I'd mention it. Odder still is the noise only happens with the wheel going backward. In the attached video you can hear the pads grab and stop nicely and when I release the lever an audible click. When rolling the bike backward with me on it I could hear the click in intervals as the wheel rotated also but could not replicate with the bike lifted.

Short Video

Weird. I'm not familiar with the brake set up on your bike. Is there a spring clip or retainer in there? Maybe its hanging up or something? IDK...

My first guess is the pads shifting back to their zero. The brakes arent really designed to stop the bike rolling backwards. It is my best guess I can think of by your description and video.

There is an anti rattle clip on the back end of the pads like most calipers but I don't see any discernable movement.

That's an interesting thought, I haven't been looking for forward movement of the pads in the caliper, just outward movement.

Those spring clips on some brake systems can compress and when the brake is release they can push the brake pad back to it's normal place. Like when apply the brakes backing up.
Odd noises like this can be heard on auto's if a window is down and your close to a wall of some sort.
Around here noise's get noticed in a parking garage but not noticed otherwise.

Try to make sure it's just a noise and not something that needs attention.

Yup, checked torque on the axle and caps, made sure fork brace was secure and aligned and alignment looked good to. I haven't anything feeling off, it was just the click on release that caught my attention.

Interestingly enough, I heard this same type of sound today while rolling my 07 FLHTCU backwards down the driveway.
I have 2008+ brakes on the bike, and couldn't see any reason for the click... nothing loose, nothing missing, etc.

Just an annoying "click" when the lever is released and the pads go back to their resting position.
I couldn't confirm if it was happening on only 1 side or both.
