Default First part lost

I went through my bike checking most of the bolts, of which only a couple were a little bit loose, with the exception of the gear lever peg and guess what fell off at 500 miles..........the gear lever peg![sm=roll.gif] I guess the skull peg will start the collection![sm=crossbonesgif.gif]

After riding shakin' Sporties, Shovels, and an old Evo for over 32 years, I've never lost a shift peg, or anything else that I remembered to tighten down. I see a few instances of this happening and am wondering if it is prevalent to the rubber mount bikes, or just seems to happen now & then to any/all models.

My shifter peg fell off at about 700 miles on my '05 Super Glide.

With the exception of lots of stuff falling off when the bike hit the pavement at about 45 MPH, nothing has fallen off my 01 FXD.

My shifter peg fell off at 1/4 miles - literally as I was riding it away from the school parking lot we had unloaded it in (had a place to back my truck up to that made it easy to get out of the truck bed). Fortunately, I was in an otherwise empty parking lot and was going slow, so it was no big deal to turn around, find it, and screw it back on (very tightly).

After losing the chrome one on my spotster, I started using blue locktite (sp?) and haven't lost another.
